  1. The most fascinating part of the Glass Menagerie is how Laura is this sweet quiet little girl when Jim shows up and by the time he leaves she is dancing and sharing things she wouldn't have with anyone if it wasn't for Jim. It shows the power of what a nice man can do for a lady that needs attention from someone else but her family. Even though Laura got played by Jim, she still feels like she has accomplished something.

  2. I liked the scene with Laura and Jim talking about all of her little glass figurines. When they are talking about it, you could see a little shining in her eyes, and she was genuinely excited to be sharing it with someone. Even though Jim ended up not being anything special for Laura, I feel like she still enjoyed the night because how she took a step forward emotionally.

  3. I thought the scene where Tom explains to Jim why he wants to leave was interesting. This scene shows a sharp contrast between Tom and Jim. Tom wants to leave his family and explore his own dreams. He doesn't care whether or not he hurts his mother because he is fed up with her. On the other hand, Jim is very kind to Laura and Amanda. He sees that Amanda is overwhelming but is kind and understanding with her anyway. He even covers for Tom after the power goes out, saying maybe it was a blown fuse.

  4. The part that really caught my attention was when Jim was there cause he had so much life in him and was out going and not boring. And the same scene when Jim broke Laura's favorite glass figurine. And she did not get upset at him at all, and he also kissed her even though he was already promised to someone else. This scene was the most exciting part of the movie.

  5. The part that fascinates me is when Jim acts all sweet to Laura and then kisses her. What is his deal? I don't get it. He knows he has a fiancé. I don't understand him.

  6. The scene that is so fascinating to me is when Laura is explaining to Jim all about her glass figurines. She is so adamant about all of the figures. She explains which one is her favorite and why. She is so careful to pick it up not to drop it and break it because it means a lot to her. The unicorn happened to be her favorite because it was so fascinating and different as she was. She finds a way to connect with Jim and by doing so she finally gets her wish to kiss him.

  7. A scene that fascinates me is when Laura shows Jim her glass collection. I feel like she never really showed and explained her collection to anyone else in the way she showed Jim. She shows affection for something in a way that I feel she never showed in previous scenes. Even though her "Glass Menagerie" collection meant so much to her, when her glass unicorn breaks, she doesn't care. She quotes that maybe it's a blessing in disguise. When Jim goes to leave, she gives him the broken unicorn. He says that he will never forget it.

  8. What caught my eyes in the play was Jim, and how he was so different from Tom, Amanda, and Laura. He has his whole life planned out, and he is definitely not shy like Laura. A part of me wanted Laura and him to get together since he had brought the best out of Amanda and Tom. They didn't even argue when he was there. He also made Laura feel very special about herself. He didn't see Laura as a shy cripple girl, but a young woman who just needed a confidence boost. If you ask me I would love to have him as my pocket encourager.

  9. The element of drinking caught my eye. Tom uses it as his escape from Amanda and Laura. Amanda is completely against the idea of Tom or any caller that Laura may have. Drinking is one of the main things Amanda asks when Tom tells her that he asked Jim to come to dinner. Drinking is an element that plays a major role in Amanda's life and she just wants to keep Tom safe and Laura from having to go through what she did.

  10. The most fascinating element to me is Toms ability to just roll with the punches. He has to deal with his mother and sister because his dad died and on top of that he has to deal with everyday stresses of life like paying bills, and working at his job. He wants to go out in the world but at the same time feels sorry about wanting to leave his family behind. To me he is one of the most fascinating characters in the play.

  11. My favorite scene is when Laura is looking at her glass figures before Amanda walks in the house after finding out Laura hasn't been going to her business class. Laura just sets there looking at her glass figures and it shows how much they mean to her and how people can get lost in objects that others may think have nothing to do with the person's life. It also shows how scared she is when she skitters back to the keyboard acting innocent, not wanting to get caught "getting lost" again.
